Art & Architecture

This project included a basement and complete refurbishment of a 4,750ft2 family home in the heart of Fulham. Having lived in the property of over ten year's the clients decided to give their beloved home a complete makeover rather than move.

The property includes five bedrooms all with ensuite, cinema, gym, wine store, games room with bar, as well as some Banksy inspired graffiti! From the Smallbone kitchen to the bespoke joinery and fitting of air conditioning throughout, no expense was spared.

As well as the quality of finishes a period stone-clad cantilevered stairs was constructed to the first floor with a more contemporary one to the lower ground floor, elevating the circulation space from the ordinary to the amazing.

Wall finished were not forgotten with tadelakt to bathrooms as well as the use of incredible wallpapers meant to uplift the atmosphere.

From the entrance lobby with reconfigured stair layout to allow a view straight through into the newly design garden to the rear one is comforted with the new cantilevered stair. To the right is the double reception room with new Chesney fireplace, jumbo herringbone floor with brass border inlay and period decorative cornice as well as a bespoke desk area with inlay.

This leads into the large Smallbone kitchen with Sub Zero appliances and cooking range with a Timothy Oulton crystal pendant over the island. From there the garden beckons, completely redesigned and reconfigured to reflect the social nature of the client and containing a walk-on roof light that covers a lower ground terrace with access into the games room and bar.

The Spiral Wine Cellars wine store is handily placed next to the games room and bar, with a fully functioning cinema room leading off it. Did I mention that the whole house has been automated with regard to both lighting and audiovisual equipment? The lower ground also houses a fully functional gym with spa and large utility/laundry room and plant.

Upstairs there are five bedrooms all with ensuite and bespoke joinery. Bathrooms include tadelakt wall, TVs and Corian baths and basins. As mentioned they are also serviced by a new air conditioning system to make sure the occupants are kept at the perfect temperature, whatever the weather!

This really was a fantastic project and the client was delighted with the results.
